Privacy Policy

Effective date: 23 June 2026

Sluk is built privacy-first. The words and names you choose to hide never leave your browser. This policy explains what little personal data we do handle, why, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who we are

Sluk ("Sluk", "we", "us", "our") is a browser extension operated by DNand, a sole proprietorship (enkeltmandsvirksomhed) registered in Denmark under CVR no. 37905925. We are the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

For any privacy question or request, contact us at admin@sluk.com.

2. Our privacy-first approach

Sluk works by scanning the pages you visit and hiding the sections that match the words, names, or phrases on your block list. This matching happens entirely on your device, inside your browser. Your block list and settings are stored locally in your browser's own storage. We do not receive, transmit, or store the list of things you choose to hide, and we do not track the pages you visit or the content that gets hidden.

You can install and use the free version of Sluk without creating an account and without sending us any personal data at all.

3. What we collect, and why

a. If you only use the extension (no account)

Your block list, preferences, and on/off state are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us. If you remove the extension or clear its data, it is gone.

b. If you create an account or subscribe

To offer paid plans we need an account, which means we process a small amount of personal data:

c. Payments

Payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe and are not stored by us. We retain only a Stripe customer and subscription reference and the status of your payments, so we can manage your subscription and meet our bookkeeping obligations.

d. Messages and feedback

If you email us or submit feedback, we process the content of your message and your contact details so we can respond and improve the product.

e. Technical data

When you use the account or payment features, our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) for security and reliable operation. We keep these to a minimum.

f. Cookies and local storage

The extension uses your browser's local storage to remember your settings. When you are signed in to your account, we use a small number of strictly necessary cookies or tokens to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

4. Legal bases for processing

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases:

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers (processors) needed to run Sluk, under agreements that require them to protect it:

ProviderPurpose
StripePayment processing and subscription billing
GoogleOptional Google sign-in, and delivery of our transactional emails
VercelHosting of our website and application
MongoDB AtlasDatabase hosting for account and subscription data

We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

6. International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, so your data remains protected.

7. How long we keep it

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email admin@sluk.com. We will respond within the time limits set by the GDPR.

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, www.datatilsynet.dk.

9. Children

Sluk is not directed to children under the age of 15, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We protect your data with measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashing of passwords, and restricted access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Please check back occasionally.
